Please note, however, that if the land of any person is benefited by the tampering of any irrigation infrastructure, the onus shall be on such person to prove that he is not responsible for the tampering.

1. Pressurized Systems
Generally, on-farm pumping directly from our distribution line will not be permitted, because this affects the operational integrity (i.e. water pressure levels, etc.) of the irrigation system.
However, in certain circumstances where customers’ supplies could be compromised, the Commission may give special permission for on-farm pumping directly from our distribution line, provided that the operating integrity of the system is not threatened.
2. Open Channel
Generally, direct pumping from our open channel network will not be permitted, because this affects the operating integrity (i.e. surface water flows, etc) of the irrigation system.
However, in certain circumstances where customers’ supplies could be compromised, the Commission may give special permission for direct pumping from our open channel network, provided that the operating integrity of the system is not threatened.
3. Sanctions
Under no circumstances should customers undertake direct pumping from our system without prior permission from the Commission.
In the event that these operating guidelines are violated by any customer, the Commission may without notice to the customer suspend the supply of water and/or terminate the irrigation contract.
